Christo Youth Service
Funded by the Department of Community Services, Christo provides support and short term accommodation (up to 3 months) for homeless young people aged 15 through to 18 years of age.
The aim of the service is to provide support to young people in order to assist them in becoming independent. This support may include: facilitating family reconciliation; assistance in the increasing of personal living skills; access and referral to specialist support services and assistance to increase personal resources and skill development.
Christo Youth Service acknowledges that whilst young people may not have created their current situation, only their commitment to a better future will bring about change.
Referrals are assessed on young peoples ability to work with staff on personal goals.
To be eligible for support from Christo, you must be able to mark yes to ALL of the following questions:
- Homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Aged 15—18 years
- Reside or have close family links in the Hastings
- Have a desire to work with staff in developing a personal plan
- Outreach case management provided for people to age 25
If you have marked yes to each of the points above then contact the staff team at Christo Youth Services on 6584 9666 to discuss your situation and to arrange to complete a Self Referral Form. The referral process is usually relatively quick and staff are trained to provide assistance if required.
