CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE

This is a voluntary, caring group concerned with Christian living, in particular, the protection and support of the Christian family.  This organisation unites at Parish, Diocesan, State and National levels women of all ages, to meet the challenges of the present and future.  The members work to support the endeavours of the Church and is the largest CWLA organisation of lay women within the Church in Australia.  Members are active in the social and spiritual life of the Parish.  Meetings are held on the third Friday of the month at the John Worner Centre, Davoren Drive at 1.30 pm .  Members also enjoy a monthly social luncheon.  New members are always welcome.  This organisation, through its affiliation with the World Union of Catholic Women has non-Government standing at the Council of Europe, at United Nations, at UNESCO, FAO, UNICEF and serves at several lay committees at the Vatican

Monthly dinner club for Catholic men and their friends to meet and socialise.  Licensed premises behind the Horton Centre open every Tuesday afternoon at 4pm until 8pm

There is a monthly dinner usually on the third Monday of the month.  This is a wonderful opportunity for new parishioners to meet new friends.  The club is not a fund-raising venture but does support various parish needs as they arise

 

 

 

 

PRAYER MEETINGS

The prayer meeting provides an opportunity for people to share prayer, hymns and Scripture in offering praise and thanksgiving to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and to pray for the Parish and for each other’s intentions.  A meeting is held in St Francis of Assisi Chapel in the St Agnes’ Village complex on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 3.00pm.

A group of lay people attached to the Canossian Daughters of Charity.  The aim of the group is to make Jesus known and loved.

We meet each week for prayer, bible study and spiritual formation of new and ongoing members under the direction of the Canossian sisters, and under the patronage of Our Lady of Sorrows.  We welcome new members.  We meet at the Resource Centre, Bay Street at 9.30 am each Thursday

Our daily journey begins with St Francis of Assisi. His goal was to imitate Jesus, his Divine Master. The professed members of the Order strive daily to follow Francis' way of life.
