Are you a passionate, enthusiastic and motivated newly graduated Registered Nurse who wants to start your career by making a real difference? Would you like to be part of a unique Graduate Program that gives you both acute care and aged care clinical and leadership experience?

Catholic Care of the Aged (CCA), an integral part of St Agnes’ Parish, Port Macquarie and the largest aged care provider within the Port Macquarie and Kempsey areas,is combining with Port Macquarie Base Hospital in offering a New Graduate Nurse Program commencing in February 2018.  The Graduate Program will provide you with the rare opportunity of gaining valuable combined practical acute care and aged care clinical and leadership experience. In this program you will have the opportunity to kick start your nursing career within a dynamic, progressive and innovative organisation, whilst making a positive difference to the lives of our residents and their families.

The program is for a 12 month period, with the successful applicants working 6 months with CCA and 6 months at Port Macquarie Base Hospital. Hours of work will be full-time, working rostered shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.          

To be ELIGIBLE to apply for the New Graduate Nurse Program you must:

  • Have recently obtained your Bachelor of Nursing and/or Midwifery in Australia (in the past 12 months),
  • Be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse by 1 February 2018, and
  • Be an Australian citizen or hold a visa that allows full-time employment in Australia.

  • Positive attitude with a flexible, calm and understanding manner
  • Competent computer literacy skills, with demonstrated ability to use standard software packages (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)


Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Diocese of Lismore Care Services NSWNMA and HSU NSW Enterprise Agreement (2014-2017).  Attractive salary packaging benefits are also available for permanent employees.  Interested applicants must be willing to work all shifts.
