St Agnes’ Parish is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation located in idyllic Port Macquarie providing aged care, community services, early childhood services and education to the community. The Parish is currently on an exciting journey of change and growth as we seek to develop innovative approaches to serving the needs of the people within our community and exceeding their service expectations.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Food Services Manager to join this organisation in a newly created role.   As the Food Services Manager, you be responsible for managing service delivery to existing customers and expanding service provision and partnerships based on opportunities identified through recent market research and an organisation wide strategic planning review.

The Service Area currently provides 7,000 meals weekly to 300 residents across four Aged Care facilities within Port Macquarie, as well as providing bespoke catering services to their retreat and conference centre and to other areas of the organisation.

Your immediate priorities will be to implement service improvement plans for existing customers/services and to work closely with the GM Business Development to implement opportunities identified in recent strategic planning reviews, a key component being the redevelopment of the food service production facilities and services which forms a major component of our client’s capital works for the next 3-5 years.

You will be an experienced leader with the ability to get the best from your team, meet financial targets, adhere to the standards of the organisation and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

·         Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders

·         Delivering high quality service and products

·         Ensuring client satisfaction levels are achieved

·         Operational and financial management of the Food Services division

·         Business planning and the implementation of strategic objectives for the                     Food Services division

·         Ensuring the efficient production of food served to all service areas

·         Developing nutritious and tasty menus in consultation with key stakeholders

·         Developing the annual budget in consultation with the GM Business                          Development

·         Ensuring the Food Services division operates within its designated budget

·         Developing and managing Supplier agreements

·         Ensuring the Food Service system is aligned to accreditation standards

·         Monitoring and investigating all complaints/incidents and implementing corrective action

·         Building a positive culture within the Food a Services team characterised by a focus on customer service

·         Ensuring the Food Services team operates within industry regulations and requirements


Experience Required


·         Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role

·         Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery

·         Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

·         Demonstrated experience in either Aged Care, Hotel Functions or                              Convention Centres

·         Strong understanding of all aspects of menu planning

·         Conversant with HACCP and Food Safety standards

·         Computer literacy skills

·         Demonstrated experience in staff management

·         Financial management in developing and controlling budgets, managing                    expenditure

·         Strong time management skills and outcome focus
