St Agnes’ Parish is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation located in idyllic Port Macquarie. The Parish employs more than 800 staff who serve the local Hastings/Macleay community in aged care, community welfare, early childhood services and education.

The John Henry Institute is a service area within St Agnes’ Parish and is your local training provider. JHI is committed to supporting local residents and businesses find their purpose and reach their potential. We work with the community and industry to identify and meet training needs and help local people get local jobs.

The John Henry Institute provides an expanding number of offerings, with training currently provided in:

Agriculture | Automotive | Business | Bricklaying | Cabinet Making | Concreting | Construction | Electro technology | Engineering | Furniture Making | Health | Horticulture | Hospitality | Information Technology | Tourism | Media


John Henry Institute are seeking qualified and experienced Trainer Assessors to deliver training in:

  • First Aid(HLTAID003 and HLTAID004)
  • Work Safety in the Construction Industry (White Card)(CPCCWHS1001)

These appointments will be on a casual/contractor basis, with candidates engaged when there is an identified training need. We currently have clients seeking training in early 2018 in the above course areas.


  • Commitment to work in harmony with Catholic Values and Principles,
  • Qualifications and recent industry experience within a relevant field of study, with a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) or equivalent,
  • Experience delivering training and coaching, assessing and evaluating training qualifications,
  • Demonstrated experience developing course materials and learning activities,
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively within a small team,
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills, and the proven ability to complete all paperwork in line with RTO compliance requirements,
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
