ABOUT US St Agnes’ Parish is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation located in idyllic Port Macquarie providing aged care, community services, early childhood services and education to the community. For 20 years, the Parish has been delivering excellence in education through its schools, including award winning vocational education and training through Newman Senior Technical College. The John Henry Institute (JHI) extends that service to provide nationally recognised training to residents of the local Hastings community and to the staff of St Agnes’ Parish. JHI is committed to supporting residents and businesses find their purpose and reach their potential. JHI works with the community and industry to identify and meet the training needs and help local people get local jobs.


We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to manage and grow the John Henry Institute (JHI) by developing and refining a range of high-quality training products and services, which respond to customer needs within the Parish and the broader community. As RTO Education and Training Manager you will be responsible for continuously improving the operational effectiveness and financial viability of JHI, and ensuring ASQA compliance and government funding contract compliance is maintained. You will have the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels and have a reputation for delivering quality outcomes.

Your extensive experience in the management of a training organisation or RTO, excellent communication skills, strong business acumen and ability to inspire and motivate the JHI team to provide service excellence will be crucial for this role.   • Commitment to work in harmony with Catholic Values andPrinciples,
  • Tertiary qualification in Education, Business, Management or equivalent, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110),
  • Demonstrated successful experience in the management and leadership of a training organisation or RTO, in pursuit of excellence in service quality and delivery,
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of ASQA, VET accreditation compliance, government funding and the standards for NVR registered training organisations,
  • Demonstrated business acumen and business development skills, with the proven ability to develop and meet strategic, operational and budgetary objectives in a competitive environment,
  • High level interpersonal skills, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
