Adult Faith Education

ARE YOU AN ADULT WHO IS INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC?

The best thing you can do in this situation is to call into the Presbytery Office. Most adults who wish to become a Catholic are taken through a period of instruction in which they learn about Catholic faith. In St Agnes Parish, this is done through a process shared with others who also wish to become Catholic, called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

Those interested in becoming Catholics whose ages range from 18 to 80 years are accompanied on their journey not only by their immediate guides – catechists, sponsors, priests and the R.C.I.A. team – but by the whole parish community. The program usually commences around July/August with inquiry nights and culminates at the Easter vigil ceremony the following year.
